I should preface my review by saying I did not get the LG 450 on-line, I purchased it at a large box shop due to the fact they had a far better cost: I wanted an inexpensive Tv for the bedroom as well as the LG 450 is a good selection, the image high quality is quite great for it is cost. I did not want 120Hz so I saved $150 by getting the 60Hz model. All LG TV's have Expert ISF Settings so you can have it professionally calibrated or do it your self, it even has a built-in blue filter. The ATSC tuner is quite powerful since I get all the local stations OTA with an indoor antenna. This model is just not world wide web enabled so you will need a set top box to obtain Netflix, and so on. A word of caution though: when I got it residence and calibrated the picture it still did not look wonderful, it takes about 12 hours of viewing for the display to "break-in". Following watching the Tv for some days now the picture has improved dramatically. As with all TV's the sound is not excellent however it does have bass and treble controls. The USB port supports: JPG, MP3, MPG, WMV, MP4. The manual states other video formats are supported but they wouldn't perform on my Tv. (More Detail...)

I have only had the tv for 3 days now, but here are my initial impressions: The image is absolutely spectacular. I upgraded from a 50' Samsung DLP that I'd had for about 7 years. I truly did not understand what I was missing with the technologies advancements of 1080P LCDs and LEDs more than the last few years. My wife and I will be watching HDTV in either 1080i or 720p and take a look at each other and say this doesn't look like "normal" Tv. We finally figured it out last night. The picture is so clear that television shows really seem to us as if we're seeking by way of a window into somebody's residence or perhaps watching a live performance/sporting event. We can even commence to decipher how "fake" some of the sets are that the producers are utilizing on many of the sitcoms. Watching a Blu-ray is practically like watching a video game. The frame rate and clarity are so much improved more than previous generation sets that it truly offers you a whole new movie-watching expertise. Blu-rays may take some obtaining utilized to for me since they're so life-like that I have a tendency to just stare in awe as opposed to paying attention towards the movie. (Review More...)

I previously bought an LG 42LD550, utilised it for some months and was really happy with its top quality, but the 42" screen size was somewhat too little for my living room, so I decided to get a bigger Tv rather. The LD550 has greater features than the LK520 -- its web application was one thing that attracted me, however it demands an adapter which doesn't include the Television, so I by no means got to test it. I wanted to acquire an tv that didn't break the bank, but met my criteria of 40-42", numerous HDMI input, PC input, 1080p, 120hz and this fit the bill. I stayed away from plasma since to me the LCD picture high quality is a lot crisper and I stayed away from LED because for the same sized LCD I can get a larger screen. Note: The room that this television resides in is 11' by 15' and it sits 8' away from the couch. The size is just right for the room. Initial Setup Setup was really easy and I was up and operating within minutes of taking the tv out of the box. I had to install the included stand and then set a couple of choices and also the date once the unit was powered on. The stand base is made out of plastic but is connected towards the television with a metal bracket. That mentioned, when we initial set the television on the console it wobbled and I was concerned at very first, but following some days, I already forgot that it initially wobbled, so this was a non-issue. The unit itself is lovely with a black plastic frame having a glossy finish. It ought to be noted that the tv monitor itself sits very low with the stand, once installed, there is a 1.5" clearance from whatever the television is sitting on along with the bottom of the monitor itself, there isn't any approach to adjust the height.
